The Empire are hoping to get revenge from their Week 6 loss to the D.C. Breeze… on Long Island!
The loss to the Breeze stung, but the Empire can avenge that loss with a win during the franchise’s first ever home game on Long Island. With a good chunk of players and team staff members hailing from the island, it only made sense for the team to play a game there. The team will have the Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale as their home for a weekend, and it’s one of the best spots on Long Island to play.

For fans interested in getting to the game, the Long Island Rail Road will be running their usual weekend service all day Saturday, and the nearby stations serve a whole slew of lines – the Hempstead line stops closest to the field, but the Montauk, Oyster Bay, Port Jefferson, and Ronkonkoma lines also stop nearby.

The Breeze sit at the same 4-2 record as the Empire, but above them in the standings due to their victory earlier this season. A win this weekend moves the Empire above them in the standings, and helps the Empire position themselves better to take the division.
It’s a busy weekend around the division too, as every team has at least one game on their schedule – the Royal and Breeze have two, with the Royal playing in Philadelphia on Saturday night and then in Washington D.C. the following day. That makes this game on Long Island even more important for the Empire’s season.
